What an account is for
Signing in saves your own work in the investment analyzer and nothing else. No page on this site is put behind an account, and no directory row is hidden from a signed-out reader.
What is not offered
There is no public API, no bulk export product, no service-level agreement and no support contract. If a page implies otherwise, that page is wrong and we would like to know.
The underlying sources are all public and all free: the grid operators publish their own files, EIA-860M is a public federal survey, county permit layers are open GIS services and OpenStreetMap is openly licensed. Anyone can go to them directly, and every page here links to the ones it used.
If that changes
If a paid tier is ever introduced, the pages that exist today will stay free. Nothing that is currently published and indexed will be moved behind a paywall.
