Grid & data centre intelligence

The grid, on the public record.

Live conditions across 8 grid operators. Every US power plant that reports on EIA-860M, mapped by fuel and by state. Every data centre with a citable public record. And close readings of the interconnection rules that decide what gets built.

What this site is

Four datasets, one grid

Each one is assembled from named public sources and carries its own as-of date on every page.

Live

Grid conditions by operator

Load, fuel mix, real-time prices and alerts for eight markets, copied from each operator's own published files. Where an operator publishes nothing, the page says so instead of showing a zero.

Directory

Every US power plant

The EIA-860M operating inventory, split into fuel families and a page per state, with county, unit count, operating year and status on every plant. Planned projects are kept on separate pages so an operating count is never inflated.

Data centres, honestly counted

No complete public roster of US data centres exists. This is the union of two open sources — county and city permit GIS, and OpenStreetMap — labelled row by row, and presented as a floor rather than a census.

Where every number on this site comes from

Named sources

Grid operators’ own published files, EIA-860M, county and city permit GIS, OpenStreetMap, and the FERC, ISO and state-commission dockets the insight pieces read. Every page carries its sources and its as-of date above the fold.

Nothing is modelled

Where a source publishes no capacity, no coordinate or no operator, the page shows a dash. Missing data is shown as missing rather than filled in, and a stale export is labelled stale.

No exclusivity claim

All of this is assembled from open records. What the site adds is coverage, structure and provenance. Read what it does not contain.
