Live conditions — PJM power grid
no active system-wide emergency procedure postings (3 postings listed; local transmission warnings excluded)
as of · source: emergencyprocedures.pjm.com
The condition is PJM’s own operating state for the Mid-Atlantic & Midwest grid — normal, a watch when reserves run thin, or an emergency. It is copied from the operator’s notices, not inferred here; where the operator publishes no feed this page can read, it says so rather than guessing.
Load — PJM grid demand
Load is total demand served on the PJM system in megawatts. Figures are the values in the export; a dash means the feed did not carry the number, not that it was zero.

Generation by fuel is a single snapshot at its own as-of time, using PJM’s own fuel categories. It moves through the day — solar at midday, gas and storage into the evening.
Prices (LMP) — PJM energy prices and hubs
as of · source: api.pjm.com
A locational marginal price (LMP) is the cost of serving one more megawatt-hour at a given node: energy, plus congestion, plus losses. The spread between the lowest and highest node is congestion on the PJM transmission system. Negative prices mean surplus supply, usually wind or solar, at that location.
Map — PJM zone map and LMP map
PJM LMP map
Real-Time 5-minute unverified LMP, all pnodes across 14,449 pricing nodes: low -458.28 $/MWh, average 68.36 $/MWh, high 1337.52 $/MWh. The export carries no coordinates for these nodes, so the map cannot place them.
Every market on one page: nodal LMP map.
The map colours every PJM pricing node by its latest real-time LMP. The power plant and balancing authority maps linked below show what generates inside the PJM footprint and where its boundary runs.

FAQ — PJM power
What is PJM?
PJM Interconnection is the regional transmission organization that runs the PJM grid across all or part of 13 states and the District of Columbia, serving about 65 million people. PJM power is dispatched through a single market stretching from Illinois to New Jersey.
What does this PJM real time dashboard show?
Current load, the forecast peak, generation by fuel and a summary of real-time LMPs, each with its as-of time and a link to the PJM file it came from. It is not PJM’s own dashboard — PJM Data Miner is.
How are PJM prices and PJM power prices set?
PJM energy prices are locational marginal prices (LMPs) calculated every five minutes at thousands of pricing nodes. The Prices section summarises the latest real-time interval; the same figures sit behind most quoted PJM power prices.
What are the PJM hubs?
PJM hubs are PJM-defined averages of many pricing nodes — Western Hub, Eastern Hub, AEP-Dayton Hub, Dominion Hub and Northern Illinois Hub among them — used as the reference points most PJM power contracts settle against.
Is there a PJM LMP map or PJM price map?
Yes. The Map section links to the nodal price map, whose PJM LMP map layer is a PJM price map coloured by the latest real-time LMP at each node, as of the time shown.
Where can I find a PJM zone map or PJM zonal map?
PJM splits its footprint into transmission zones named after the utilities that own the wires, such as Dominion, ComEd, PECO and AEP. The balancing authority map linked below draws the PJM interconnection map boundary as a PJM grid map; PJM publishes the zone-by-zone PJM map itself.
How do I see a PJM power grid alert?
PJM issues hot and cold weather alerts, maximum generation alerts and load management actions. The Alerts & news section lists every PJM power grid alert in the latest capture with a link to PJM’s original notice.
Where can I read PJM news today?
PJM news today is covered by the alerts on this page plus Inside Lines, PJM’s own newsroom at insidelines.pjm.com.
